What are the responsibilities and job description for the OP - Insurance Verifier Full Time Days position at North Shore Medical Center?
Position Summary:
Verify insurance benefits, responsible to obtain accurate data, demographics and insurance information and inputs data into the computer system in a timely fashion. Completes all appropriate forms. Calls patients to inform of their liability and notifies doctor's offices. Provides copies of these documents to front registration the day before. Ensures all insurance information is correct, verifies benefits upon registration at least 72 hours prior to the patient's date of service. Obtains appropriate authorizations depending upon the services being rendered. Demonstrates flexibility, dependability, and cooperativeness in responding to departmental/organizational needs as well as a complete understanding of all hospital emergency procedures.
Qualifications:
Required Education/Licensing:
- High school graduate or equivalent, some college preferred. Knowledge of function and relationships within a hospital environment preferred.
- Previous hospital registration experience is preferred. Customer service skills and experience.
- Must possess good written and oral communication skills and display a positive image.
