Railroad Track Laborer

Job Summary:

The track laborer is a hands-on field employee essential to the production of our field crews. Track laborers will learn the details of constructing railroads from the ground up and the process of maintaining and repairing them. The track laborer will work safely and efficiently utilizing man power and various hand tools to accomplish tasks related to the construction, repair, and maintenance of railroad tracks. Track laborers will work in team settings and report directly to the job foreman. Safety is paramount at NST, therefore all track laborers will be trained in the rules and regulations required to promote our safety cultrue. Every employee at NST is expected to adhere to these requirements each and every day.

Essential Functions:

• Report to job foreman or field supervisor and receive daily instructions.
• Work in a team evironment to accomplish daily tasks.
• Perform various laborer tasks in a safe and productive manner.
• Work on multiple projects often at multiple locations throughout the work day.
• Complete all necessary daily paperwork and submit in timely manner.
• Flexibility in personal schedule is a must to accommodate occasional travel.

Qualifications:

• Ability to adhere to all safety related rules and regulations.
• Ability to perform continuous physical tasks for long periods of time.
• Familiarity with hand tools and proper use.
• Pervious construction experience and/or training preferred.
• Ability to follow instructions and learn on the job.
• Strong desire to be apart of a team operating in a fast-paced, result-oriented culture.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screening and E-Railsafe background check.
• Valid drivers license and clean driving record required, CDL or ability to obtain is a plus.
• Participate in CN On Track Safety training and annual refresher. (Provided)
• Complete MSHA Part 48New Miner Training and annual refresher training. (Provided)

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From $18.00 per hour
