What are the responsibilities and job description for the Autism Coach position at Northeast Arc?
Northeast Arc is looking for a part time Autism Coach to provide in-home and community support for adults with Autism in the Autism Coaching program.
Job Summary: Supports are intended to help coach an individual acquire life skills as identified by the client. As an Autism Coach, you will work independently with individuals to meet their personal goals at home and within the community.
Major Responsibilities:
• Provide clinical oversight and assist individual one-on-one in developing plans that will enable individuals to acquire specific required skills and behavior in areas such as executive functioning, employment, relationship, social etc.
• Collaborate with families, DDS and other service providers as needed
• Assist individual in being able to identify, access and navigate services within the community, that might be essential to the individual.
• Provide individualized support to client for the purpose of fostering community inclusion, self-advocacy, and independence
• Maintain detailed and accurate participant records and complete all necessary paperwork in a timely manner, submitting in accordance with agency polices
• Provide resources as needed to individual as well as to families
• Respects human and legal rights of the individuals we service.
Qualifications:
• Bachelors degree completion is a requirement. Masters in education, psychology, or related degree preferred.
• 2-3 years of working with individuals with developmental disabilities including autism is preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient technology skills to be able to provide needed documentation and notes as well as clock in and out when working.
• Valid driver’s license is required.
Schedule: 2-6 hours per week (exact schedule is based on client’s needs and employee availability, this may include evenings and weekends).
Pay Rate: $23-$45 hourly based on education and experience.
Salary : $23 - $45
