Responsibilities:
- The Psychotherapist is delegated the responsibility and accountability necessary for carrying out his/her assigned duties.
- The primary purpose of the position is to provide psychological services to the residents of the Northeast Center for Rehabilitation and Brain Injury in accordance with current applicable federal, state, and local standards, guidelines and regulations, and as directed by the Director of Neuropsychology to assure that the highest degree of quality resident care can be maintained at all times.
- Psychotherapist will provide crisis intervention, individual psychotherapy, group therapy, psychological evaluation and mental status examination upon request or as required.
- Psychotherapist will maintain treatment records, progress notes, and file documents in a timely manner.
- Psychotherapist will communicate with treatment team or medical staff as required. He/she will participate in discharge planning, implementation of resident care plans, assessments as required.
Requirements:
- Masters degree in Psychology or in the related field
- 3 year of experience in a hospital, skilled nursing facility or other related medical facility is preferred. Licensed to practice in New York State, or eligible for licensing in the State of New York.
- Must function independently, have flexibility, personal integrity, and ability to work effectively with integrated teams, residents, personnel, and support agencies.
- Must be able to relate to and work with individuals who are disabled, ill, elderly, emotionally upset, and at times, hostile because of brain injury
- Must meet the general health requirements set forth be the policies of this facility, which include a medical and physical examination.

- Rate will be commensurate with experience.
