Summary

The Project Manager oversees projects in the electric and broadband sectors, ensuring high standards of safety and efficiency. This role is critical for the planning, execution, and delivery of infrastructure projects, focusing on both new developments and upgrades. The Project Manager will work closely with engineers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure projects meet technical specifications and are completed on time and within budget.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Assist in developing project plans that include detailed timelines, budget forecasts, resource allocation, and risk assessments.
  • Acts as the primary point of contact for project stakeholders, including government bodies, contractors, and community representatives.
  • Ensures all projects comply with local, state, and federal regulations and standards, including environmental and safety codes.
  • Obtains easements for construction of facilities and ensures properly filed easements are in place.
  • Ensure all necessary permits and right of way are secure prior to construction.
  • Assist in reviewing make ready needs and develop staking sheets for necessary construction as required.
  • Assist in negotiating contracts with vendors and contractors, ensuring clear communication of project specifications and expectations.
  • Implements rigorous safety and quality control measures on all project sites to protect workers and the public.
  • Observes existing overhead and underground facilities during daily work ensuring reliable and safe operation. Reports problems to supervisor or Dispatch.
  • Provides regular updates to senior management and stakeholders about project status, including progress, financial status, and potential issues.
  • Keeps abreast of advancements in the fields of electric and broadband infrastructure through continuous education and professional development.
  • Assists with the restoration of electric and broadband service during large interruptions by troubleshooting and guiding contract crews to ensure and expedite restoration.
  • Assists with development of construction and maintenance work plans.
  • Protects cooperative resources by ensuring assigned equipment is kept in good order.
  • Accepts training by attending meetings, workshops, and courses related to job responsibilities.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience – A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, or related field and a minimum of five years of project management experience in the electric or broadband industry is required. Project Management Professional certification is highly desirable.

 

Licenses, Registrations – Must hold and maintain a valid Oklahoma Driver's License.
