SUMMARY:
The Nurse Supervisor is responsible for overseeing nursing operations and staff in NET Centers’ Delaware continuum of care. This individual will direct and monitor the work and service provided by the nursing staff, ensuring quality of care. The Nurse Supervisor will report to the Executive Director, Mobile/Outpatient Director, and Medical Director. In this role, the Nurse Supervisor will be responsible for ensuring that Nursing staff is operating in compliance with NET policy, licensure standards, and program procedures. The Nurse Supervisor will also be responsible to ensure that the facility has adequate medical coverage at all times. The candidate will have experience in patient care as well as staff, resource, chart audits, equipment checks, scheduling staff, and be on call as needed. The Nurse Supervisor will work alongside a multi-disciplinary team to ensure that daily operations of the programs under the umbrella of Delaware’s continuum of care are met on a daily basis.
Qualifications
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Possession of a Delaware Registered Nurse OR multi-state compact license.
- 2 years of clinical experience in addiction treatment is required; management experience is preferred.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel at the intermediate to advanced level
- Experience in working with an electronic health record is preferred
- Excellent time management and organizational skills
- Advanced oral and written communication skills to effectively problem-solve
- Must be a team player, patient, flexible, and can multi-task
- Demonstrated ability to complete multiple tasks in a timely and accurate fashion in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to supervise, redirect, and professionally develop nursing staff.
- Ability to provide constructive feedback, support, and corrective action to staff in a professional/empathetic manner.
ESSENTIAL POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- Must receive 25 hours of training in addictions or mental health treatment as required by federal, state, and local regulatory entities. At least half of the training will be completed as an in-service at Net.
- Must receive 6 hours of HIV/AIDS training, 4 hours of TB/STD training, and Confidentiality training in state-approved curriculum.
- If the individual is licensed or credentialed, they must meet all necessary requirements to maintain licensure or certification if it is required for position.
- Must demonstrate genuine empathy and concern for individuals as indicated in our corporate vision, mission, and values statements.
- Must be able to demonstrate sensitivity in all oral and written communications regarding persons served within the agency.
- Adhere to applicable city, county, state, and federal laws, and regulations, internal and CARF standards.
- Must have current State clearances for Child Abuse, Criminal Records check, and contagious diseases.
- Ability to communicate verbally in English, read written or typed information, communicate legibly in writing, speak English clearly, and hear in conversational tone.
ESSENTIAL POSITION RESPONSIBILITIES: (and other duties as assigned)
- Develop schedules for nursing team and provide coverage when needed to ensure all shifts are covered within the facility. Manages time and attendance; manages, supports, coordinates, and approves nursing PTO requests. Holiday rotations and shift trades.
- Direct patient care as dictated by patient needs and staffing schedule.
- Collaborate with Nurse Practitioner to coordinate client examinations and physicals.
- Plans/implements staff meetings and training seminars in collaboration with Nurse Practitioners.
- Provide oversight of inventory, ordering, receiving and accountability of medication / inventory control in conjunction with the other pharmacy personnel as required by the DEA and state regulatory bodies.
- Reconcile controlled medication records, controlled storage medication record (Safe Count), OBOT/OTP controlled medication records, OBOT/OTP controlled storage medication records (OBOT/OTP safe count) and daily shift counts monthly.
- Provide staff supervisions and corrective action as needed.
- In collaboration with Human Resources and the training department, is involved in the hiring and training of nursing staff. Develop, implement, and monitor training needs and plans of the nursing staff. Assists with the development and updating of the Orientation Program for both professional staff.
- Prepares time sheets, verifies attendance, and updates Paycom accordingly.
- Facilitates cooperative effort amongst all disciplines as it relates to patient care.
- Participates in medical, administrative, and educational, hazardous waste, safety, and infection control committees as directed.
- Communicate department needs and concerns to administrative team.
- Implement changes to program policies, procedures, and operations as permitted by administrative team.
- Communicates key information to nursing/clinical staff to enhance teamwork.
- Assist administrative staff in preparing for audits and other licensing and accreditation reviews.
- Maintains accurate records of nursing staff licensure and certifications.
- Order medical supplies for all levels of care.
- Communicates expectations to subordinate staff and follow up to ensure completion.
- Develop, implement, and ensure adherence to Infection Control policies and practices
- Manages crisis and emergency situations. Completes incident reports and submits to DSAMH as necessary.
- Collaborate with the Clinical Supervisor to ensure a cohesive daily flow of operations between the clinical, support, and medical staff.
- Provide rotating on-call facility coverage.
- Any other assignments or tasks designated by the Executive, Mobile/Outpatient, Medical Directors or Nurse Practitioners.
Salary : $100,000 - $105,000
