Early Childhood Child Care Director

Required Qualifications

• Be at least 21 years of age.
• Meets center director qualifications per HHS
• Preferably will also have a minimum of two years exprience in a licensed childcare center with at least year as a director.
• Must provide official copy of college transcripts.
• Be certified in CPR and first aid.
• Pass a background check.
• Complete physical and provide a physician's documentation, be mentally and physically capable of caring a large group of children.

Required Expectations

• Be available as early as 5:30 AM and as late as 6:00 PM.
• Responsible for overall functions of the center, supervising staff, designing curriculum, and administering programs.
• Ensure services are provided for the children within the framework of the licensing requirements and the center's statement of purpose and objectives.
• Has overall responsibility for carrying out the program and ensuring the safety and protection of the children.
• Be customer service orientated and self driven.
• Possess a strong work ethic and have minimal absenses.
• Be a professional, positive role model for all employees and children.
• Interact with parents daily on a first name basis and speak with them about their child/ren.
• Assist with meal preparations, when necessary.
• Maintain child and employee files.

Job Classification

• Facilitate and attend occasional parent participation events and other events at night and/or weekends.
• Conduct staff and parent meetings (staff meetings are to be held monthly)
• Hire, evaluate, monitor, support, coach and discipline staff.
• Collect tuition.
• Enroll children.
• Maintain a set budget.
• Keep receipts and records.
• Handle inquiries and center tours according to policy.
• Convert tours into enrollments.
• Implement best practices and developmentally appropriate practice methods.
• Follow all corporate policies and procedures as well as state of Iowa licensing regulations.
• Maintain a professional self image and project the values of Northeastern Academy.
