This position is an on-site position which requires the incumbent to complete their work at the Flagstaff Mountain campus with or without accommodation. Opportunities for remote work are rare.
Performs a variety of coordination and support duties related to billing and collection function of assigned unit to ensure compliance with best billing practices, electronic billing regulations and HIPAA. Monitors and troubleshoots accounts payable and receivable, performs financial reporting and performs general administrative support functions. Applies specialized functional knowledge to independently analyze and respond to administrative matters within established limits. Uses discretion, exercises initiative, independence, and judgment to handle differing office situations in accordance with supervisor's guidelines referring more difficult and sensitive problems to supervisor. May provide work direction to other clerical staff and student employees. This position reports to the Manager, Revenue Cycle.

Majority of work is conducted indoors in an office environment. Occasional outdoor work (<1%) would consist of tabling events that require standing, verbal communication and lifting/pulling up to 30 lbs.

This position has been identified as a safety/security sensitive position. Therefore, per AZ Revised Statute, Northern Arizona University requires satisfactory results for the following: a criminal background investigation, employment history investigation, degree verification (in some cases) and fingerprinting. In addition, the Fire Safety Report is combined with the Annual Security Report for the NAU Flagstaff Mountain Campus as this campus has on-campus student housing. This report discloses fire safety policies and procedures related to on-campus student housing and statistics for fires that occurred in those facilities. $20.00 - $22.00 per hour
This position is non-exempt under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA). The incumbent is eligible for overtime pay or compensatory time according to University policy. Further, the employee must submit timesheets that accurately reflect all hours worked.
This is a part-time, non-benefit eligible position.
