Description
POSITION TITLE: Facilities Safety Manager
REPORTS TO: Vice President of Children Services
FLSA CLASSIFICATION: Non-Exempt
Rate: $26.41
GENERAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for developing and supervising the transportation system, ensure coordination with other Components, participate as a team member of Head Start, ensure that agency operational procedures are carried out as outlined in the Component Plan. Operate in compliance with any and all of the policies and procedures as established by NKCAC Head Start and the performance standards as established by the Federal Government regarding program operations to promote and provide quality service delivery to the children, families, and community of our service area. Fulfill responsibilities as a program design and management, early childhood development, and health services team member.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Work cooperatively with all Components of the program.
- Maintain the confidentiality of staff and clients.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Coordinate and provide training; compile the annual self-assessment and submit completed report to Program Director.
- Attending staff, weekly meetings and training as required.
- Follow established child abuse reporting procedures.
- Assist in recruiting and training parent and community volunteers.
- Assist in securing in-kind donations to match the reguired non-federal share amount each program year.
- Submit monthly reports to the Vice President of Children Services as required.
- Performance of other tasks deemed necessary by Vice President of Children Services
- Assures compliance with all program and grant requirements.
FACILITIES RESPONSIBILITIES
- Supervise and schedule janitorial staff/contracts in the proper maintenance of the Head Start Program site locations.
- Solicit bids from approved vendor list as necessary for supplies, repairs and equipment.
- Requisition and maintain adequate inventory of supplies and equipment necessary for operations within the budget guidelines.
- Submit monthly report of program operations to Vice President. Of Children Services
- Conduct weekly inspections of all facilities to assess conditions and/or need for repairs. Review all work orders and complete all documentation in child plus,
- Provide training of maintenance staff in janitorial services for facilities.
- as scheduled by Provide janitorial/maintenance services of designated facilities Program Director.
- Provide general repairs as needed.
- Provide floor care/maintenance according to floor care procedure.
- Removal of ice/snow during inclement weather, and treatment of all walkways and door areas. as required.
- Submit written description of all needs for janitorial, building and maintenance supplies to the Vice President of Children Services.
- Ensure proper maintenance and storage of all cleaning equipment tools and supplies.
- Maintain a clean, well-organized storage and supply area.
- Open and secure areas of the Head Start buildings as directed by Vice President. Of Children Services
SAFETY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Review and supervise evacuation drills.
- Complete monthly facility checklists.
- Maintain chemical, hazardous material, and OSHA forms and control log data.
- Participate in the program social services and health and safety advisory councils.
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:
- High school diploma/GED.
- Construction Certificate
- Pass driving and background check.
- Record keeping and computer skills.
- Good written and oral communication skills.
- A valid driver’s license and vehicle access daily.
- Ability to work with people of diverse and varying socio-economic backgrounds.
- Ability to relate to parents and small children.
- Ability to supervise adults
