Title: Director of Counseling/Student Support Services
Bargaining Unit/Salary Level: MEA Administrators Level V
Responsibilities: Supervise and direct academic, personal and career counseling services, and to provide direct counseling services to an identified group of students. Coordinate grant funded support services for eligible students including academic, personal and career counseling, reporting purposes, report and grant writing and program planning. Assure that grant related goals and objectives are met and that compliance with grant-related regulations is maintained.
Minimum Qualifications: Master’s Degree in Guidance, Counseling, or related field.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: A working knowledge of collegiate environments, ADA/disability services, working with disadvantage populations, and federal grant writing. Knowledge of personal, career, academic, substance abuse and developmental counseling theory and methodology. Ability to identify and connect with community resources, including Department of Human Service Programs, Aroostook County Action Program Services, Aroostook Mental Health Center Services, the Battered Women’s Project, and others. Must demonstrate good interpersonal and leadership skills.
