Primary Job Duties and Responsibilities (Essential Job Function)
Working independently under minimal supervision, leads and participates in the development, maintenance, and execution of the BHE IT change, asset and service management programs that will optimize the management of IT cost, risk and value through operation and optimization. This position is responsible for IT service management as the central point of data analysis to support the effective management of IT enterprise environments owned and managed by IT, third-party service providers or business units outside of IT.
Typical Duties
Monitor and validate BHE IT change requests to comply with BHE IT change management standards established for BHE IT supported system changes, including changes to BCSI assets supported by IT.
Track and report adherence to critical security controls relating to BHE IT assets and/or changes to assets. Including hardware, software, and mobile devices. Monitor and report updates to BHE IT assets based on the BHE IT service management standards. Update changes to asset information as requested.
Develop, test, and implement enhancement requests relating to BHE IT service management and ensure standards are followed.
Provide input associated to updating/implementing changes to enterprise level processes, standards, and policies.
Acts as the expert and lead for less experienced BHE IT Support Analysts.
Ensure the asset management database accurately reflects the audited values and perform data collection and analysis of all software, hardware, and mobile devices throughout BHE to identify, analyze and recommend changes to the asset management database. Coordinates the reconciliation of records in the asset management system to maintain database integrity. Monitor, coordinate, and carry out standards and procedures within the approved ITSM BHE standards and assist with updates, as needed.
Provide expert technical support for the deployment and activation of mobile devices and supported software and applications for the various BHE businesses. Ensure devices are enrolled and inventoried per defined enterprise level program. Provide support for the mobile device management tool ensuring company security requirements and usage polices are aligned.
Validate software licensing compliance, coordinate with various BHE businesses to correct license anomalies, research the validity of software assets for compliance per license agreement/contract and provide recommendations for the purchase or removal of non-compliant software.
Carry out standards and procedures within the BHE IT service management programs and assist with updates, as needed.
Create requisitions and retention plans for all IT orders and process goods receipt. Research available products. Work with procurement and the company value added reseller to facilitate the timely and accurate flow of orders for digital technology assets.
Coordinate the research required for the validity of software assets for compliance with licensing contracts and vendors as well as determine the need for additional licenses, upgrades, and maintenance.
Support the efforts to perform data collection and analysis of all software and hardware throughout the various BHE businesses to identify, analyze, and recommend changes to software and hardware purchases and removals and to minimize associated risks.
Participate in departmental and enterprise-wide projects.
Performs any additional responsibilities as requested or assigned.
Qualifications
Education
Bachelor's degree in business, finance, IT or a related field, or equivalent work experience. (Typically, 4 years of additional related progressive work experience would be needed for candidates applying for this position who do not possess a bachelor’s degree).
Prior Job Experience
Five years of related technical experience involving a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. Experience in a change and asset management role. ITIL or related certification preferred.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated strong project management skills and the ability to determine specifications, schedules, and deliverables.
Demonstrated knowledge of concepts, practices, and procedures of change and asset management.
Demonstrated knowledge of licensing compliance rules, retrieval, and experience in interpreting end-user license and product use agreements.
Ability to organize and perform multiple detailed tasks and assignments with frequently changing priorities in a fast-paced work environment.
Ability to gather information, identify relationships and trends and apply findings to assignments.
Communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, including communicating instructions and information clearly, concisely, and accurately, as well as convey information through both formal and informal documents.
Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of information technology related technical documentation and technical verbiage.
Work Environment and Physical Demands
General office environment. No physical demands required. Availability to work any shift including holidays in a 24 x 7 x 365 work environment.
