Job Description
General Description:
The Facilities System Support Specialist will coordinate with IT and/or consultant to support FPSS leadership on computer system architecture and related data for proposed systems integration initiatives. The Facilities System Support Specialist will coordinate with the IT department to facilitate the implementation of all new software.This is an entry to mid-level position.

Duties and Tasks:
  • Support the maintenance of other data repositories of the Division, including the stored architectural and engineering drawings of buildings and other improvements.
  • Coordinate with IT department to support the completion of database backups, maintenance, monitoring on a daily basis.
  • Identify and resolve any issue that would affect the end users in coordination with IT.
  • Will initiate software requests for all new project software needed by the department.
  • Will maintain a record of all purchase and renewal schedule for department software.


Special Assignments:
  • May be required to perform other duties as assigned.
  • May be required to assist the agency or state government generally in the event of an emergency declaration by the Governor.

  • This position is restricted and is funded with non-continuous or non-recurring funding and is subject to continuation based on fiscal year funds and the needs of the College.

KSA's/Required Qualifications
KSA’s
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office, multiple databases, and in the use of Energy Management Systems software.
  • Capable of communicating and expressing ideas clearly and concisely, in both written and oral formats.
  • Ability to create and maintain positive customer and stakeholder relationships.
  • Knowledge of the different components of SQL , such as SQL Server Management
  • Familiar with Studio (SSMS) and SQL Configuration Manager.
  • Assist in troubleshooting database related problems that would affect the application running on it.


Required Qualifications:
  • Some experience in supporting databases, multiple software applications, and smart devices.
  • Valid Driver’s license and good driving record
  • Some experience in troubleshooting computer system software or software interface problems

Additional Considerations
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Some experience with Facilities Department operations
  • Some experience in higher education sector.
  • Familiar with databases, servers, software architecture and IT systems.
