Receptionist/Optometric Technician

As a small eye care office, only applicants with strong customer service, clerical, and technical skills will be considered. Furthermore, we’re looking for someone with the following skillsets: excellent verbal and written communication skills, strong attention to detail, and good organizational skills. A flexible work schedule is important as this position requires weekends!

Duties and responsibilities

• Provide first-class customer service with every patient encounter.
• Display a positive, professional attitude while serving patient needs and working with fellow team members.
• Actively manage the front desk by performing the following tasks:
• Answering phone calls and checking the office voicemail
• Scheduling, confirming, and managing patient appointments
• Checking and replying to messages received through Doctible and the office email.

• Learning and utilizing various online insurance systems to check patient eligibility and submit insurance claims.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures, including HIPAA.
• Operate the following optometric equipment:
• Automated visual acuity chart
• Clarifye
• iCare tonometer
• Automated lensometer
• Visual field
• OCT
• Optomap digital retinal imaging

• Clean, open up, and shut down all optometric equipment and exam rooms.
• General office duties and cleaning to be assigned by owners.

• Ability to work weekends (Saturday and Sunday).
• Ability to arrive at work at least 15 minutes before patient care is scheduled.

• Initiative to actively complete office tasks and work towards achieving practice goals.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
