Position Purpose: The Business Systems Analyst provides support for a broad range of applications used by Northland throughout the application lifecycle. This will include input to design, participation during implementation, and responsibility for ongoing operation of new and existing applications used to support core business functions. This individual will work with all resources in IT, both internal and external, to ensure stable and consistent delivery and support of all application services. In addition to executing the work required this individual will document and communicate from start to end to facilitate stability and consistency in the application environment.

- Responsible for support of the various application platforms. Support activities would include enhancements, installations, upgrades, and problem resolution.
- Perform support activities in conjunction with other IT members in infrastructure and end user services to ensure a streamlined support experience for end users.
- Work with stakeholders on projects to define and document a prioritized set of business outcomes and application work to accomplish those outcomes while accurately representing any inherent limitations.
- Participate in enhancement projects for commercial, off-the-shelf applications using industry standard methodologies, creating documentation for requirements and testing, and communicating updates to management.
- Work with colleagues throughout the company to create ongoing partnership between key business functions and the IT organization.
- Provide support and facilitation for innovative and experimental application work to test new ideas with bounded cost and time frames.
- Work with major vendors and service providers to ensure they are supporting the needs of the organization and raise any potential issues with management.

- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems or business management or related fields or equivalent work experience required.
- Two to four years of work experience in a related or equivalent role, or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience working in a real estate firm is preferred but not required.
- Experience working with key industry-specific application providers (MRI, Yardi, RealPage, Entrata, Microsoft Power BI) is ideal but not required.
- Experience working as a member of multiple project teams concurrently.
- Experience working with and/or providing oversight to external IT service providers.
- Familiar with application environments comprised of both internally and externally hosted applications.
- Membership of professional organizations, trade or user groups and a pattern of regular attendance at IT events or meetups to enhance knowledge of current technology.
- Displays excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
- Ability to handle pressure, meet deadlines, and prioritize workload.
- Ability to work collaboratively with co-workers and maintain a cooperative, productive atmosphere.
