Inventory Specialist
The Job Details:
- Conduct daily cycle counts, including, but not be limited to review of daily shorts
- Enter data for quantities of various items in warehouse issued and transferred between locations, inventory, and cycle count adjustments into computer database.
- Troubleshoot quantity discrepancies with supervisors and management.
- Record and monitor all items with shelf-life daily and notify appropriate personnel when material has expired.
- Prepare monthly reports for cycle count and pick-lists count for monthly highlights
- Prepare and participate in yearly physical inventories.
- Follow daily cycle counts as requested by supervisor
- Receive count/verify incoming orders as requested
- Process damaged or defective stock
- Document discrepancies between inventory records and physical stock
- Inventory rotation
- Record inventory data manually/electronically on computer
- Quality issues
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Strong math skills, as they will be responsible for maintaining records of large inventory counts, where accuracy is critical
- Operate forklift for moving stock material
- HAACP Certification (within 3 months)
- Flexible
Qualifications
The Job Specifics:
- Location, Department and Work Hours: SE side of Chicago, IL, Warehouse/Inventory, 24/7 operation. Cold warehouse must be okay working in temps below 40 degrees. Primarily 2nd shift openings currently, but we are growing quickly and will hire the right people and find the right seat.
- Reports To: Inventory Supervisor, Operations Manager & GM
What We Are Looking For:
Education
- High School Degree preferred
- Experience with cycle counts, WMS systems, ability to learn quickly
- 2 years previous inventory experience preferred, cold storage even better
- Checking and Loading experience.
- Strong computer and mathematical skills
- Able to analyze information gathered to identify potential problems or discrepancies.
- Ability to properly handle confidential information and records.
- PC and Computer applications (MS Excel, Word etc.
- Forklift training and experience
