Northrop Grumman Aerospace Systems has an immediate opportunity for a Program Manager 3 - F-35 Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead, based onsite in Redondo Beach, CA.

In this position, your key roles and responsibilities will include, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Serve as the Control Account Manager (CAM) responsible for all contract level Sustaining Labor and Non-Labor Dollar control accounts on the F-35 Program; provide oversight and direction to the team managing the Sustaining accounts.
  • These Labor and non-Labor accounts are equivalent to transitional SEPM accounts inclusive of ODC and represent one of the largest budget responsibilities on the F-35 program
  • This position reports to the F-35 Deputy Program Manager
  • Responsibilities include:
  • Leverage the Sustaining execution simulation model to develop contract baselines and Sustaining targets to meet Program EAC.
  • Issue Labor / Non-Labor Dollar sustaining Targets to all program functions and integrated product teams (IPTs)
  • Establish process, rhythm, and metrics to manage performance to targets including management of hours, direct labor rates, functional allocations, travel, premium pay, etc.
  • Communicate regularly with Program Leadership on significant emerging pressures, mitigation plans, and cost improvement opportunities; drive affordability initiatives to improve operational efficiencies throughout the F-35 Program
  • Generate sustaining Labor Pool estimates, working directly with Program executives in support of Proposal and Negotiation strategies
  • Assume a Leadership role on the F-35 Program, leading various estimating and other cost assessment efforts.

Successful candidates will have the following key attributes:

  • Proactive - anticipates requirements from higher management and initiates / completes actions to meet those requirements; possesses the ability to work independently and prioritize multiple tasks.
  • Perceptive - sees the "big picture" and is able to understand the Statement of Work (SOW) at the IPT level, but is also able to focus on the details and can see potential opportunities to gain operational efficiencies and drive affordability.
  • Possess Good Judgment- becomes a key resource and the "go-to" person for the Executive Leadership Team on the F-35 Program and can be trusted to provide good guidance decisions affecting utilization of company resources.
  • Excellent Communicator - possesses very strong written and oral communication skills.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 10 years of experience with a bachelor's degree or 8 years of experience with master's degree
  • 5 years of management experience or leading a team
  • Prior experience on an Integrated Product Team (IPT) in a complex manufacturing environment and / or on a production program

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Aerospace industry experience
  • Prior experience as Control Account Manager (CAM) is highly

Salary Range: $176,100.00 - $264,100.00

Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives. In addition, Northrop Grumman provides a variety of benefits including health insurance coverage, life and disability insurance, savings plan, Company paid holidays and paid time off (PTO) for vacation and/or personal business.
