Northrop Grumman Space Systems Sector is looking for you to join our team as a Principal / Sr. Principal Software Engineer doing SV Command and Control, based out of Morrisville NC , Fairfax VA, or Linthicum MD.
What You’ll get to Do: We are looking for an experienced Software Engineer familiar with C , Python, and SV command and control who wants to work on an agile development team using a modern development practices doing mission processing. You may also perform maintenance and sustainment engineering for existing baselines which may require programming in C /C.

The software engineer, designs, develops, documents, tests and debugs applications software and systems that contain logical and mathematical solutions. Conducts multidisciplinary research and collaborates with equipment designers and/or hardware engineers in the planning, design, development, and utilization of electronic data processing systems for product and commercial software. Determines computer user needs; analyzes system capabilities to resolve problems on program intent, output requirements, input data acquisition, programming techniques and controls; prepares operating instructions; designs and develops compilers and assemblers, utility programs, and operating systems. Ensures software standards are met.
Basic Qualifications:

Principal SW Engineer: 5 Years with Bachelors in Science; 3 Years with Masters; 0 Years with PhD

Sr. Principal SW Engineer: 9 Years with Bachelors in Science; 7 Years with Masters; 4 Years with PhD, 14 years of software development experience in lieu of a degree.

Experience with Agile software development using Python and/or C software development in a Red Hat Enterprise Linux environment

Knowledge of object oriented design and software lifecycles

Experience with version control software

Candidate must have a current/active Top Secret/SCI security clearance to be considered

Candidate must be able to obtain a Counterintelligence Polygraph ( CI-Poly )

Experience supporting operational systems

Experience working in Virtualized Environments (VMs, AWS Cloud Instances)

Experience with Atlassian tools (JIRA, Confluence, Bitbucket)

Previous exposure to working with ground systems (scheduling, tasking, antennas, working with hardware interfaces)

Salary Range: $95,100.00 - $157,000.00Salary Range 2: $117,900.00 - $194,500.00
Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
