Manages the staff and daily operations of the Scheduling Office. Ensures effective utilization of operating room resources in the scheduling of all surgical procedures.
Job Responsibility
- Provides leadership to Scheduling team members and supervisors by communicating and guiding toward achieving department objectives. Manages and assigns work to optimize operational service.
- Develops, communicates, and builds consensus for goals in alignment with the health system. Reviews, recommends, implements, and monitors approved work-flow changes.
- Collaborates with internal stakeholders and surgical physicians to facilitate efficient scheduling of surgical procedures.
- Handles complex scheduling issues; recognizes and resolves errors, as necessary.
- Reviews scheduled surgeries with the leadership and nursing personnel to confirm the upcoming operating room schedule.
- Ensures effective communication of actual and potential schedule changes to admissions, operating room, and recovery room areas.
- Oversees the creation of reports and logs; ensures adequate inventory of supplies.
- Supervises, hires, trains, disciplines, and evaluates the performance of staff; ensures performance appraisals are completed in a timely manner.
- Participates in evaluating and implementing quality control/performance improvement related practices.

Job Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- 6-8 years of relevant experience and 2-5 years of leadership / management experience, required.
