Job Description
Develops numerous strategies for education and counseling for the community. Facilitates these settings, focusing on health, wellness and injury prevention.
Job Responsibility
- Coordinates and implements programs that will result in close community identification for the system and the hospitals.
- Plans and implements programs including, but not limited to: fairs, seminars, training programs, conferences, workshops and public forums.
- Identifies and formulates areas for program development; addresses community, civic, business and service organizations; represents the hospital in community activities.
- Plans, develops and designs program brochures, newsletters and displays; prepares lectures, flyers, etc. necessary for outreach and education.
- Maintains policy and procedures that meet the needs of the system and the department.
- Initiates development of public relations tools to heighten community awareness of the hospitals.
- Coordinates and implements the community wellness and injury prevention program.
- Identifies funding sources, initiates and participates in grant writing and fund raising opportunities.
- Coordinates with staff from linking agencies, bringing issues to and from education program; keeps staff apprised of relevant information.
- Operates under general guidance and work assignments are varied and require interpretation and independent decisions on course of action.

Job Qualification
- Bachelor's Degree required, or equivalent combination of education and related experience.
- 1-3 years of relevant experience, required.
