Overview:
We are seeking a skilled Sterile Processing Technician to join our team. As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the cleanliness and sterility of medical equipment and instruments. Your attention to detail and knowledge of aseptic techniques will contribute to the safe and effective delivery of patient care.
We are a high energy surgery center that performs a large number of orthopedic cases, including total joint replacements. We also perform spine, breast reconstruction, plastics, hand surgery and podiatry. Culture is very important to us, and we hire hard-working professionals who also enjoy working together.
This position has some flexibility in hours. We are open to 8 or 10 hour shifts and the hours can start early or end later in the day.
Duties:
- Clean, decontaminate, and sterilize medical equipment and instruments following established protocols and guidelines
- Inspect equipment for damage or defects and report any issues to the appropriate personnel
- Assemble instrument trays and surgical sets according to specifications
- Maintain accurate records of sterilization processes, including load contents, cycle times, and test results
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure that sterile supplies are readily available for procedures
- Monitor inventory levels and order necessary supplies to maintain adequate stock
- Adhere to infection control policies and procedures to prevent the spread of infectious diseases
- Follow all safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment
Skills:
- Proficient in sterile processing techniques and procedures
- Strong knowledge of human anatomy and physiology
- Familiarity with aseptic technique and infection control practices
- Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced healthcare environment
