What are the responsibilities and job description for the Airport Badging and Training Specialist position at Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport Authority?
JOB PURPOSE:
Assists with the administrative functions of the Airport Badging Office.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Assist with the teaching of classes to accomplish the training and badging of all new hire applicants.
Assist with compliance of all new Security Directives and badging requirements for the airport.
Assists with the maintenance of individual employee badging records. This includes complete review and compliance to assure all required information is true and correct. These records must also be kept in full compliance with the rules and regulations established by the Transportation Security Administration.
This position assists with the maintenance of security stop list records, badging retrieval efforts and documentation, security threat assessment spreadsheets and associated reporting.
Use manual dexterity and visual observation to operate office equipment such as computers, telephones, facsimile machines, photocopiers, fingerprint scanners etc.
Exercise strict confidentiality of information involving all Airport matters in accordance with the Department of Homeland Security’s Transportation Security Administration Security Sensitive Information protocols.
Perform special projects as assigned by the Administrative Operations Coordinator.
Perform other duties as requested.
REQUIREMENTS:
KNOWLEDGE – Requires good written and verbal communication skills, graduation from high school or equivalent supplemented by 1-3 years experience with airport security operations; or equivalent combination and training involving airport public safety work. Ability to maintain effective public relations and to establish good working relationships with other employees and tenants.
You may not operate an airport vehicle or motorized equipment and must notify the Facilities Director before returning to work: (i) if you are arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs; or (ii) if the state revokes, suspends or fails to renew your driver’s license. Incumbents of this position must possess a valid Arkansas driver’s license, and be insurable to operate the Airport’s vehicles and motorized equipment.
SECURITY - Requires the ability to pass a security background check. The Northwest Arkansas Regional Airport is a drug free workplace. This position is a safety sensitive position as defined in Ark. Const. Amend. 98, § 2(25). Persons employed in this position may not use marijuana at any time or any place.
MENTAL - Requires normal attention.
PHYSICAL - Requires standing approximately 5%, sitting approximately 90%, occasional lifting of paper and files weighing up to 20 lbs. approximately 1% of the time.
ENVIRONMENTAL - Requires capability of performing essential job functions in and office environment.
MANUAL DEXTERITY - Requires using hands, arms and/or feet for performing essential job functions essential job functions such as operating computer hardware and software, typewriter, and related office equipment.
AUDIBLE - Requires ability to understand and follow oral instructions and the ability to communicate via radio and telephone.
VISUAL - Requires the ability to read written material, computer screens and operate office equipment.
