Western contractor to the mining industry is hiring an experienced Magazine Operator based in Winnemucca, Nevada to work in the exciting explosive industry. Our company provides explosives and explosives related services to the quarry, construction, and mining industries.

Ideal candidates are comfortable working with hazardous materials. Candidates should be motivated individuals with the desire to work hard, learn new skills, and be accustomed to working in teams to accomplish amazing things. Experience with explosive related products and services or other hazardous materials is not required, but desired. For those who are new to the industry, extensive training will be provided.

Our company has a vital interest in maintaining a safe and secure workplace. To that end, all successful applicants will need to consent to a background, drug and alcohol screening as well as random and reasonable suspicion, and post-accident screenings after joining our organization.

Role-

Provide safe and accurate inventory support for the Magazine.

Responsibilities-

· Have a working knowledge of applicable regulatory requirements (ATF, DOT, MSHA, OSHA, etc.)

· Accurately control the flow of the magazine’s inventory

· Stage orders

· Assist Drivers

· Customer Deliveries

· Upkeep and Good Housekeeping of magazine facility

· Maintenance of magazine facility and equipment

· Assist in performing hazard evaluation risk analysis, developing safe operating procedures and job safety analysis

· Perform accurate receiving and shipping duties

· Daily loading and unloading shipment of explosives for customers

· Develop and maintain regulatory contacts and relationships

· Other job duties as required

Requirements

· Must be at least 21 years of age

· Class A CDL with tanker, doubles and HazMat endorsements or Ability to acquire within 3 months

· Drive tractor/trailer trucks to include double and single trailers

· Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 100 pounds.

· Inventory control experience

· Computer Literate

· Ability to provide strong, positive safety attitude

· Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills

· Must be able to walk, stand, bend, squat, or kneel for long periods of time on frequent basis as well as lift and carry loads up to fifty-five pounds for multiple hours per day.

· Must be willing to learn and understand all the health and safety aspects of the blasting and explosives industry.

· Must be willing to learn and grow your skills and abilities to the benefit of yourself and others.

· No DUI within the last 5 years

· No Felonies

Job Type: Full-time

Experience:

Driving: 1 year (Preferred)

License/Certification:

CDL A (Preferred) - Employer training available

Pay: Employer Progression scale. Starting rate $29.15/hr

Expected hours: 40 per week

8 hour shift
