Job Summary:
A Title & Recording Officer is a critical professional in real estate and property transactions. Their primary responsibility is to ensure the accurate transfer of property titles and the proper recording of related documents. This position involves meticulous attention to detail and a thorough understanding of legal documents to verify the accuracy of property records, including ownership, liens, and easements.

Duties:

Document Recording:

  • Manage the recording process for real estate transactions, including deeds, mortgages, liens, and other legal documents.
  • Ensure all documents comply with legal requirements and are recorded accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Coordinate with county clerks, title companies, and other relevant parties to facilitate document recording processes.

Title Examination:

  • Conduct thorough examinations of property titles to identify any liens, encumbrances, or defects that may affect ownership.
  • Verify the legal description of properties and assess the chain of title for completeness and accuracy.
  • Collaborate with title searchers, attorneys, and underwriters to resolve any title issues and ensure clear title transfer.

Title Insurance:

  • Assist in the issuance of title insurance policies by providing accurate title information and supporting documentation.
  • Review title commitments and endorsements to ensure compliance with underwriting guidelines and regulatory requirements.
  • Communicate effectively with underwriters, lenders, and customers to address any concerns or discrepancies related to title insurance.

Customer Service:

  • Serve as a point of contact for customers, real estate agents, lenders, and attorneys regarding title and recording matters.
  • Respond promptly to inquiries, provide status updates, and resolve issues related to property records and title issues.
  • Maintain positive relationships with clients and stakeholders through professional and courteous communication.

Compliance & Quality Control

  • Adhere to regulatory requirements, industry standards, and company policies governing document recording and title services.
  • Implement quality control measures to ensure the accuracy and integrity of recorded documents and title information.
  • Stay informed about changes in real estate laws, recording procedures, and title insurance regulations.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $49,000.00 - $54,080.00 per year
