SUMMARY
A system administrator is an essential IT professional who is responsible for providing a reliable work environment for an organization—from server and network performance to security and all other areas that keep an organization’s IT systems running smoothly. System administrators must have an in-depth understanding of computer software, hardware, and networks and are highly skilled, valuable members of an organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
UVP has a new opening for a System Administrator for our Minnesota Region.
SUMMARY
A system administrator is an essential IT professional who is responsible for providing a reliable work environment for an organization—from server and network performance to security and all other areas that keep an organization’s IT systems running smoothly. System administrators must have an in-depth understanding of computer software, hardware, and networks and are highly skilled, valuable members of an organization.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Maintaining computer networks including VPNs, routers and other physical hardware
- Installing and configuring network equipment
- Monitoring computer systems to improve network performance for all systems
- Implements disaster recovery procedures
- Maintaining current knowledge and understanding of security and networking best practices to offer the best solutions and protection to company systems
- Diagnosing and resolving hardware, software, networking, and system issues when they arise
- Setting up new users in Active Directory and other applications
- Administering Office 365 and Azure environments
- Monitoring servers for deficiencies and fixing them
- Maintain documentation on IT equipment and servers
- Researching and recommending new approaches to improve the networked computer system
- Replace old networking equipment as needed
- Review patching
- Maintain internal web applications
- Work with vendors to resolve issues
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor's or Associate Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Information Systems
- Proven work experience in IT
- Experience with Active Directory, Office365, Azure, Windows Server 2012/2016, Windows 8/10, Routers, Switches, Access Points
- Networking
Preferred Qualifications
- Powershell
- Programming: HTML, Javascript, C#
