DIRECTOR OF MAINTENANCE

Northwest Florida Community Hospital (NFCH), in Chipley, FL, is seeking a Full Time experienced Director of Maintenance to lead the maintenance staff and coordinate activities sought at preventive maintenance, continuous improvement of equipment and physical hospital, and ensure compliance in all obligations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the following duties:


  • Ensure a Safety-First culture and support Company’s safety standards deployment
  • Ensure compliance with all legal, statutory, corporate, and ethical obligations to protect the Company reputation and minimize risk to employees, patients, visitors, stakeholders, and the wider community
  • Participate in scheduled audits to ensure compliance OSHA, Joint Commission, etc.
  • Acts as an onsite project supervisor to contractors, third parties or employees for projects to run according to schedule and within the budget and preparing progress reports
  • Supervise and lead all maintenance processes and operations.
  • Track expenses and overseeing the budget for maintenance.
  • Maintain all machinery to ensure it’s at working standards.
  • Create and implement maintenance procedures.
  • Conduct regular inspections of the facilities to detect and resolve problems.
  • Plan and manage all repair and installation activities.
  • Ensure all department workers adhere to the safety policies and procedures.
  • Assign repair schedules and evaluate repair cost estimates.
  • Oversee equipment stock and place orders for new supplies when necessary.

The successful candidate will possess the following minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, facility management, or a similar field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in maintenance
  • A minimum of 2 years’ supervisor/manager experience
  • Good understanding of the technical features of plumbing, carpentry, and electrical systems
  • Strong knowledge of facilities machines and equipment
  • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
