Overview
The Facilities Technician will have direct impact on the quality of student training and staff satisfaction by providing a physical environment that is a source of pride. This position will be responsible for maintaining campus facilities, training yards and labs, grounds, parking lots, and vehicles. The Facilities Technician will manage material inventory under the direction of the Facilities Manager and provide assistance to the custodial team members during peak times of business.

In this position you will have the opportunity to:
- Ensure facilities, training yards and labs, grounds, parking lots and vehicles are maintained, functioning efficiently and have a clean appearance.
- Maintain the shop area, tools, and equipment to ensure proper operation.
- Assist the Facilities Manager in coordinating the work of contractors related to maintenance and/ or improvement projects.
- Purchase parts, equipment, and supplies as needed for facilities, training yards and labs, grounds, and vehicles. Reconcile packing slip information with shipments to verify against purchase orders within the ERP system. Checks outgoing shipments against work orders to ascertain all information is correct.
- Assist with the set-up and tear-down of facilities for meetings, events, conferences, and graduation.
- Assist with custodial duties as needed.
- Act as primary point of contact for all shipments arriving on campus. Receives and unloads all incoming materials using RFSmart technology and bar-code system to manage accurate inventory levels, inspects material for quality and specifications and follow ups with vendor on any damaged or inaccurate shipments. Prepares shipments for postal and commercial conveyance, selecting appropriate shipping containers and packing to ensure safe delivery.
- Maintain various facilities, inventory, and maintenance reports.
Required Education & Experience:
- High School diploma or GED
- Minimum of two (2) years’ prior work experience in a warehouse maintenance, vehicle maintenance, general construction, and facility repairs, or combination of equivalent education and experience.
- Valid driver’s license with good driving record and hold or ability to obtain a Class A CDL with airbrake endorsement and Certified Forklift Operator’s license during first year of employment.
- Ability to implement and communicate safety compliance, signage, and visible reporting in areas of responsibility.
- Proven experience in Receiving/ Inventory/ Warehouse knowledge.
- Ability to use basic office and web-based software (Word, Excel Smartsheet, Salesforce, etc.).
- Working knowledge of logistics software (ERP system).
Preferred Qualifications/ Attributes:
- Ability to perform routine vehicle maintenance and repair (engine, brakes, hydraulics).
- General knowledge in any of the areas of carpentry, plumbing, electrical, painting, and system repair (HVAC).
- Skilled in landscape maintenance, sprinkler systems, tree trimming and mowing.
- Ability to operate large equipment (forklift, skid steer, bucket truck, trailers, tractor, backhoe, and yard equipment) safely and with ease.
- Prior experience in the use of power and hand tools.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently to complete large projects with tight deadlines.
Salary
$23.57 - $26.19 per hour
