Northwest Resources II, Inc. is a behavioral health organization serving residents of Thurston and Mason Counties in Washington State. NWRII programs and services include: Inpatient and Outpatient Substance Use Disorder Treatment, Outpatient Mental Health Treatment, Psychiatric Medication Management, Primary Care services, Intensive Case Management, Housing Case Management and Jail Re-Entry Case Management.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • The Substance Use Disorder Professional or Trainee is the agent for providing services to patients, whether on a one-to-one or on a group basis. Services are given to individuals with chemical dependency related problems and aftercare services.
  • Provides up to 120 hours per month of direct counseling and case management services to patients; consisting of individual, group, family, and educational services; including assessment, counseling, and aftercare services.
  • Provides direct supervision of students and volunteers when directed.
  • Maintains qualification as an SUDP or SUDPT.
  • Leads discussions and presents lectures and films for group sessions.
  • Maintains professional standards and follows the treatment policies of the agency, and of the federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Follows up on treatment programs designed for and undertaken by each patient.
  • Coordinates and cooperates with the staff of other agencies and organizations in order to expedite treatment for each patient.
  • Completes all of the required forms for each patient on time.
  • Maintains accurate patient records on each patient in accordance with a problem oriented records system, and according to the agency’s procedure for patient records.
  • Prepares current patient progress reports and completion notices and provides them to the courts, probation departments, and referral sources as appropriate.
  • Participates in community educational programs on chemical dependency for the general public, professional, and industrial groups.
  • Performs other related tasks as assigned by Clinical Supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • To be certified by Washington State Department of Health as a Substance Use Disorder Professional or Trainee.
  • Not have a history of alcohol or Drug misuse for a period of three years before employment as an SUDP and not display evidence of misuse of alcohol or other drug use while an SUDP.
  • Conducts self ethically and professionally at all times.
  • Understands and adheres to state and federal confidentiality regulations.
  • Knowledge of and culturally sensitive to the problems of the patients.
  • This person must sign an oath of permanent confidentiality covering all patient-related information.
  • Must be of the conviction that chemical dependency is a treatable illness and constitutes a public health problem.
