About the Role:
NWSE is seeking passionate and dedicated Local Coordinators to join our cultural exchange program. This role is instrumental in supporting international students and fostering cross-cultural understanding within the community.
Your Responsibilities:
Exchange Student Placement: Your primary responsibility will be networking in your community and surrounding areas to locate families interested in hosting an exchange student for either a semester or academic year. You'll conduct in-home interviews with background-checked host families to ensure they meet NWSE's standards and are adequately prepared to host an exchange student. Coordinate with local high school district to secure school acceptance for enrollment.
Providing monthly check-in and reporting via our reporting system while monitoring the student's exchange.
Additional duties:
Participant Assistance: Provide comprehensive support to our exchange program participants, addressing their needs and concerns throughout their stay.
- Host Family Liaison: Maintain open communication with host families to ensure a positive experience for both participants and hosts.
- Documentation: Ensure all necessary paperwork and records are accurately maintained for each participant.
Qualifications:
- Area Coordinators are 1099 independent contractors and you must be able to make at least one placement with a host family per placement season.
- You must be a self-starter and be able to talk with people about hosting.
- Have good problem-solving skills
- Are self-directed and self-motivated
- Possess basic computer skills.
- Strong communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to organize and conduct meetings and training sessions.
Compensation:
While this position is not salaried, Local Area Coordinators receive compensation-based monthly stipends during the exchange year. Your earnings are based on the number of students you successfully place or support and the duration of their programs:
- Support 1-5 students and earn $800 per student placement.
- Support 6-9 students and earn $910 per student placement.
- Support 10 or more students and earn $1020 per student placement.
- Additionally, NWSE may offer bonuses, incentives, and recognition throughout the year.
