Description
The Operations Coordinator Radiology reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.
The Operations Coordinator Radiology, under the direction of a practice manager, participates in the planning, leading, and organizing of activities related to the delivery of imaging services and patient care. This role will promote a positive first impression with patients, establish a role as patient advocate, and facilitate the delivery of quality patient care and service.
Responsibilities:
- Provides competent clinical and professional leadership expertise in modality specific imaging techniques and associated systems. Assists in staff competency and training documentation.
- Facilitates orientation and training of staff.
- Acts as a resource for the team.
- Performs in a technical/clerical capacity during staffing shortages, provides customer imaging services with optimum quality and productivity.
- Ensures continuity of care through effective interactions with other departments, physicians’ offices, outside vendors etc.
- Monitors supply levels to ensure adequacy and timely reordering, maintains a clean, safe, and orderly service area, promptly reports equipment deficiencies.
- Participates in formal and informal process improvement and problem solving; identifies areas for potential improvement, recommends corrective action
- Collects and tracks data to measure and support quality management.
- Coordinates and supervises daily staffing to ensure sufficient staff to cover all aspects of service. Responds to demands and optimizes resources accordingly. Monitors operations in a proactive manner to eliminate potential patient scheduling problems.
- Coordinates and manages staff schedule, daily assignments, and vacation requests while ensuring appropriate departmental coverage. Oversee staff adjustments in automated time recording (ATR) system.
- Assists management with performance evaluations. Identifies employee strengths and weaknesses. Continuously assesses employee growth and performance.
- Encourages teamwork and effective communication. Develops, promotes and encourages staff education.
- Promptly identifies and communicates key issues and trends to management.
- Sets and executes personal development objectives to complement current position, identifies and pursues appropriate activities and opportunities, participates and holds leadership roles in professional associations (continuing education presenter/planner).
- May perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant field or equivalent work experience (4 years).
- Certification by appropriate Radiology/Medical Imaging body through American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or American Registry of Magnetic Resonance Imaging Technologists (ARMRIT)
- Radiologic technologists must be accredited by the Illinois Emergency Management Agency’s Division of Nuclear Safety. (IEMA)
- Minimum 5 years of relevant professional experience.
- CPR BLS certification through the American Heart Association
- Exceptional interpersonal skills, including the ability to establish and maintain effective relationships with patients, physicians, management, staff and other customers
- In-depth knowledge of imaging procedures and technology
Preferred:
- Experience in a leadership role
- Extensive computer knowledge
