Job Description

The Clinical Nurse reflects the mission, vision, and values of NM, adheres to the organization’s Code of Ethics and Corporate Compliance Program, and complies with all relevant policies, procedures, guidelines and all other regulatory and accreditation standards.

The role of the professional clinical nurse is unique and essential to the care of the patient. The nurse demonstrates that unique and essential function through the framework for nursing practice.

Our Medicine Units see a wide variety of diagnoses including, asthma exacerbation, pneumonia, cellulitis, GI bleed, abnormal Labs, complex chronic conditions: ESRD, DM, liver cirrhosis, heart failure, COPD/asthma, IBD, and more! We see a range of acuity from observation patients to patients receiving ICU level of care in the MICU. We have both hospitalist and teaching service on our units. Below is a list of our current openings for our medicine units.

Advocate:

• Practices in accordance with the patient centered care model.
• Develops an individualized age-specific culturally sensitive nursing plan of care for the patient that is based on the nursing process.
• Incorporates the role of patient advocate into the plan of care.

Qualifications

Required:

• Graduate of an NLN accredited school/college of nursing .
• Baccalaureate degree in Nursing or higher.
• Current State of Illinois, Registered Professional Nurse license.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) CPR through American Heart Association.
• Analytic ability (conceptual and quantitative).
• Oral, listening and written communication skills.
• Strong human relation skills to interact effectively and collaborate with others in difficult situations.
• Use of a keyboard to enter or retrieve data.

Preferred:

• Experience in specific clinical area.
• Nursing specialty certification, if eligible.
