We are seeking a reliable and safety-conscious Part-Time Escort/Pilot Car Driver to escort oversized vehicles and loads on designated routes. As a Pilot Car Driver, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the safe transportation of large and heavy equipment across various roadways.
Responsibilities:
Escort oversized vehicles and loads, ensuring safe navigation and compliance with traffic laws.
Communicate effectively with truck drivers and transportation coordinators to coordinate movements.
Maintain constant communication via radio or cell phone to report traffic conditions, hazards, or any issues encountered during transit.
Display a high level of situational awareness and quick decision-making skills to anticipate and mitigate potential risks.
Adhere to all road safety regulations and company policies at all times.
Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the pilot car to ensure it is in good working condition.
Maintain accurate records of hours worked.
Requirements:
Minimum age of 21 years old.
Alaska Flagger Certification
Valid driver's license with a clean driving record (no DUIs or major infractions).
Ability to work flexible hours, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
Dependable and punctual with a strong commitment to safety.
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
Physical ability to sit for extended periods and perform occasional light lifting or carrying.
Previous experience as a Pilot Car Driver or in a related field is preferred but not required.
