Job Summary: The Expeditor is the liaison between the Kitchen, the Front of the House staff, and the guest. Working closely with the Chef and directing the dining room staff by organizing the dishes to ensure all orders are taken to the correct tables in a timely fashion.
Job Duties
Plan and manage the order flow- Make sure that all orders are prepared in time
- Assist and manage the final preparation of different food and dishes
- Control and oversee dishes before they leave the kitchen
- Ensure adherence to all relevant quality and sanitation rules and regulations
- Provide assistance in cleaning activities
- Serve as a contact point for the kitchen and the wait staff
- Take care of customers with special needs and requests
- Notes: May be assigned other duties by supervisor or manager
Education and Experience
Prior food service experience with general knowledge of restaurant operations, preferably in a four or five star restaurant or hotel- In-depth knowledge of all relevant health and safety guidelines and regulations
Skills & Abilities
Ability to prioritize and maintain multiple tables at one time- A client-oriented mindset
- Excellent verbal communication skills
- Excellent organizational and time management skills with the ability to work well under pressure
- Basic math skills for cash handling
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including mornings, weekends and holidays
Physical Requirements
Ability to stand and walk during entire shift, talk, hear, reach, bend grasp and perform repetitive motions- Ability to push, pull, lift, carry or otherwise move items up to 40lbs
