Norway Savings Bank is seeking an exceptional individual to join our team as a Custodian for our Operations Center and main branch building in Norway.
In this role, you’ll facilitate the maintenance and upkeep of our professional offices and grounds, helping to keep our buildings running smoothly. You’d be responsible for duties which would include, but are not limited to,

• Performing general maintenance activities such as repairing locks, changing lights, repairing furniture and files, interior and exterior painting, light carpentry, moving furniture.
• Collecting recyclables, material to be shredded, and garbage including maneuvering full trash bags and/or full shred bins up to 225 pound capacity.
• Checking boiler room and performing or scheduling preventative maintenance on heating/cooling units.
• Vacuuming carpets and cleaning all areas including lobby, offices, vestibules, cafeteria, bathrooms and basement.
• Ordering and restocking supplies as needed including moving boxes of paper weighing up to 60 lbs.
• Maintaining grounds by sweeping, picking up trash and debris, pruning trees and shrubs, coordinating landscaper activities, watering plants and grass, clearing snow and ice and operating a walk behind snow-blower in winter.

What we’re looking for:

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to maintain a high level of professionalism.
• Possess and maintain a clean driving record and must have reliable transportation.
• Ability to understand policies, procedures, and related information; and to provide and follow verbal or demonstrated instructions.
• General computer knowledge for maintaining records, training, and communication purposes.
• Ability to operate a two-wheel hand truck.
• Ability to operate a vacuum cleaner and other cleaning tools.
• Mechanical and small engine knowledge.
• Knowledge of boiler systems and air conditioning systems.
• Knowledgeable on OSHA, ADA, and National Fire Protection Association Safety Standards.
• Lifting and handling of materials and supplies weighing up to 100 lbs.
• Ability to travel to various locations for maintenance and/or delivery assignments. Mileage reimbursement applies.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
Physical surroundings are generally pleasant and comfortable. Physical effort required; normally works standing up with freedom of movement on a regular basis; lifting and handling of materials and supplies; requires lifting bending, walking, twisting, climbing of stairs and ladders.
