Norwood Crossing is seeking a team-oriented cook to join our team.
We provide high quality care through individualized service plans; extensive activities programming that promotes socialization and an exceptional dining program.

DUTIES
Prepare all food items for the meals for the residents and, when requested by any supervisor, the cafeteria.
Prepare any hot menu items for the line pertaining to special diets.
Prepare, or oversee preparation of, all foods necessary in connection with luncheon parties and luncheon meetings, paying particular attention to garnishing plates and platters attractively and appropriately.
Prepare any and all salads for all areas of service.
Oversee the production of the breakfast meal for all areas of service and assist the other cooks whenever and however necessary to ensure that the meal is prepared correctly and on time.
Follow production sheets and extension boards to insure the use of proper ingredients, the preparation of proper amounts and the compliance with proper portion control measures.
Pay close attention to details in the preparation of each and every menu item.
Complete advance preparations for all items for the next day's meals in accordance with the relevant production sheet.
QUALIFICATIONS
High School diploma or equivalent.
Must pass pre-employment drug test and background screening.
Able to read, write, speak and understand English.
Ability to make independent decisions, follow instructions and to accept constructive criticism.
Ability to deal tactfully with personnel, residents, family members visitors, government agencies/personnel and the general public.
Leadership ability and willingness to work harmoniously with other personnel.
Patience, tact, cheerful disposition and enthusiasm.
Willing to handle residents based on the maturity level at which they are currently functioning.
Must be able to push, pull, move, and/or lift a minimum of 25 pounds up to a max of 50 pounds to a minimum height of 4 feet unassisted and be able to push, pull move and/or carry such weight a minimum distance of 50 feet.
Salary : $17 - $19
