Notre Dame Academy Elementary School, a TK-8th grade co-ed school located in West L.A., is seeking an experienced, innovative, and passionate third grade teacher for the 2023-2024 school year.. The ideal candidate should have a passion for teaching, possess a strong understanding of curriculum content and teaching pedagogy as well as developmental stages of elementary age students.
Responsibilities:
- Design and implement a comprehensive and differentiated curriculum that is data-based and aligned with California state standards. Knowledge of Understanding by Design unit planning is a plus!
- Foster a positive and engaging classroom environment that promotes the development of social-emotional skills, Habits of Mind, and critical thinking.
- Utilize hands-on learning to provide age-appropriate and interactive learning experiences.
- Track and analyze student progress using a variety of assessment tools and adjust instruction accordingly.
- Communicate regularly and effectively with parents to ensure continuity of learning and a collaborative professional culture.
- Work collaboratively with the middle school team
- Work with a diverse population of students with a culturally competent teaching lens

Requirements:
1. Minimum of 3 years teaching
2. Teaching Credential
3. Experience with differentiation and intervention
4. Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
6. Ability to be a learner, put in time to plan, and collaborate after school
7. Ability to take on an adjunct duty
8. Technology skills and ability to integrate technology into the instructional experiences
Preferred:
1. Masters degree
2. Training and Experience in Thinking Maps, Curriculum Mapping, and Understanding by Design, and Core Instructional Practices (CIP)
