Assistant Construction Project Manager

Assistant ConstructionProject Manager- Onsite in Worcester, MA

Position Description:

The Assistant Construction Project Manager (ACPM) will serve as a vital team member while assisting the Director of Construction and/or Project Manager on all aspects of a project. ACPM’s will be expected to focus on document control (RFIs, submittals, material delivery, etc.), subcontractor coordination, design team communication, project reporting (budgeting and scheduling) and overall representation of Nouria throughout the entirety of the project. The Assistant Construction Project Manager is expected to exercise independent judgment related to day-to-day administration of projects. The ACPM is to provide technical support to the Project Manager and Field Staff to ensure team receives all pertinent information and support necessary to deliver project professionally, on time and within budget.

Core Responsibilities:

• Assist the Project Manager/ Director of Construction in all phases and aspects of the project
• Work to obtain all necessary permits as requested by the PM and/or DOC
• Review drawings and specifications to become completely familiar with the project
• Complete general contractor evaluations/comparisons of bids, scope review, and complete buyout as requested by PM and/or DOC
• Develop and manage a project submittal log and obtain designer’s approval.
• Review submittals to ensure compliance with contract documents
• Ensure contracts and insurance are current and received before subcontractor performs any work on site
• Follow up on collection of all non-received documents and escalate any issues to the PM and/or DOC
• Distribute all punch lists and the follow-up as necessary to ensure timely completion of punch list work

Required Skills:

• Manage any needed documents related to the project (change orders, schedules, analysis, proposals, reports, etc.)
• Organize and track project costs with financial software system
• Check and monitor change order submissions for accuracy and consistency with agreed-upon scope documents
• Support the company’s Safety Program and participate in Safety training and meetings
• Track department spending and project budgets
• Work with management by keeping them informed, summarizing information and trends
• Serve as a main point of contact for communication between the Construction and Engineering Departments
• Coordinate and provide input during weekly meetings with general contractor, subcontractors, and design team members to resolve field conflicts and drive resolution
• Take ownership of the closeout process: complete and implement project closeout checklist and punch list
• Manage close-out documentation (as-builts, O&Ms, warranties, test reports, etc.)

Required Experience:

• US Citizen, Permanent Resident or Green Cardholder- we do not support Visa
• A bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or similar
• 1-3 years’ experience within the construction field, construction management or similar role preferred
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office
• Knowledge of industry safety standards

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $60,000.00 - $70,000.00 per year
