What are the responsibilities and job description for the Production Supervisor position at NOV Inc.?
This position is located in Laurel, MT and is is responsible to supervise and motivate multiple employees in a manufacturing facility ensuring all safety, quality, and production goals are met.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
- Supervise and motivate employees in the assigned department.
- Ensure all safety and quality goals and requirements are met.
- Attain production goals.
- Maintain employee attendance records.
- Enforce housekeeping requirements.
- Coordinate on the job training of department employees.
- Ensure that all department employees have read and understand the code of conduct policy.
- Maintain accurate production records.
- Assist in the supervision of employees in other departments during a supervisor's absence
Education and Experience
- A high school diploma and 5 years of supervisory experience is preferred.
Job Requirements
- Exposure to fiberglass and associated resins and hardeners is unavoidable.
- Some exposure to heat, cold, and noise can be expected.
- Ability to work overtime and shift work as required
- Standing up to 12 hours daily
- Walking up to 12 hours daily
- Bending/Stooping up to 12 hours daily
- Repetitive Movement (shoveling/sweeping/fastening) up to 12 hours daily
- Lifting weights up to 50 lbs. regularly
- Push/Pull up to 12 hours daily
- Minimal travel is required.
Behavioral Competencies
- The ability to communicate effectively, maintain ethics and integrity, and solve problems is necessary.
- Must be able to work with little or no supervision.
Technical Competencies
- In-depth knowledge of the assigned department or the ability to learn quickly is required.
- Excellent supervisory skill is necessary as there is daily interaction with employees.
- Proficient computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office
