What are the responsibilities and job description for the Field Service Technician position at NOV?
PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Conduct field installations and calibrations of sensors and systems.
- Perform field upgrades of software and hardware and train customers on how to properly operate and maintain the system.
- Communicate field failures and feedback reports to the appropriate departments.
- Complete and submit field service documentation in a timely manner.
- Utilize safe work habits.
- Comply with all NOV Company policies, guidelines, and procedures.
- Comply with all HSE policies, guidelines, and procedures.
- Comply with all Quality policies, guidelines, and procedures.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS:
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent preferred.
- Ability to pass a drug screen & background check.
- College or Technical School Degree and/or related on-the-job experience preferred.
- Knowledge of pneumatic and hydraulic control systems preferred.
- Electrical background preferred.
- Experience in heavy industry or the oil and gas environment preferred.
- Basic level computer skills (Microsoft Office).
- Possess superb customer service skills and an ability to diagnose and solve problems.
- Possess professional, clear, verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision and maintain a positive reputation.
- Unrestricted ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
- Ability to read and understand hydraulic and electrical schematics.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
