What are the responsibilities and job description for the Molding Operator - CWK Conversion position at NOV?
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES
To Prep Molds accordingly and to send to Gravity Feed for concrete filling to operate hydraulic jacks to meet required
specifications
1. Identify any Non-Conforming Products .
2. Ability to Identify Molds for Daily Production.
3. Layout Molds in order according to color using Daily Production Sheet as reference.
4. Make sure molds are clean and free from debris before oiling.
5. Check and repair all mold seams, as needed.
6. Oil Molds
7. Make sure the proper parts are in molds.
8. Assist in helping the Crane Operator to cap Molds.
9. Bolt down molds from the center outwards.
10. Replace nuts and bolts as necessary.
11. Prestress internal wires using the necessary hydraulic jack.
12. Make sure all safety caps are bolted securely to Mold.
13. Look inside of mold after prestress to ensure wires are straight.
14. Put Molds on Transverser and send to Gravity Feed.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES
Make sure all Parts are available for molds before daily production.
1. Wax necessary parts.
2. LayOut internal parts, as needed
3. Clean Safety caps and rings
4. Notify the Supervisor of parts that are not available.
5. Make necessary adjustments to the area for production.
6. Able to work closely with supervisors and co-workers.
7. Keep work areas clean and orderly. Work in a Safe and Timely Manner.
EXPERIENCE/TRAINING REQUIREMENTS
1. Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, blueprints and drawings required to carry out his/her job.
2. Must be able to write simple correspondence.
3. Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measures, using whole numbers and decimals. Use of algebra to
develop proportions.
4. Ability to read a tape measures in inches and millimeters.
5. Ability to understand the difference in concrete mixes, the difference between round, square, hex, and octagonal.
6. Ability to learn the size and lengths of molds.
7. Able to identify all parts used in his/her and helpers' area.
8. Know hand signals such as: a) Up – Down b) Left – Right c) In – Out
9. Have basic knowledge in: a) Mold Set-up b) Demolding c) Prestress Helper
CONCLUDING
1. Operator shall consider him/herself as part of a team working towards the same goal and consider your fellow workers as
his/her customers.
2. Must be able to work efficiently and effectively without supervision. Report difficulties as they develop. Provide
suggestions or solutions.
3. Must be willing to do other tasks as assigned by their supervisor.
4. Must remember Safety comes first.
