Entry Level Civil Engineer

Established in 1996, NOVA was originally founded to provide Environmental Consulting, Geotechnical Engineering, and Construction Materials Testing and Inspection services to the design and construction community, largely in the southeastern United States.  Since our founding, NOVA has added additional service lines such as Facilities and Building Envelope, Forensics, Municipal and more. NOVA Engineering is hiring a Civil Engineer to work on Construction Materials Testing & Special Inspection projects throughout the Athens, GA area. This opportunity will allow you to work on some of the most prestigious projects in the southeastern U.S. with much room for career advancement.

Primary responsibilities will include:

• Staff/project engineering duties including data reduction, analysis & fieldwork for commercial, industrial, retail, government, office and residential projects (both Geotechnical Engineering and Construction Materials Testing/Inspection)
• Assisting with project management & reporting
• Field inspection, sampling & testing of soils/foundations, concrete, masonry, reinforcing steel, etc.
• Report preparation
• Client consultation and maintenance
• Providing assistance to other NOVA team members to promote the overall objectives of the company. 

The preferred candidate will have:

• B.S. degree in Civil Engineering is required
• Experience in construction testing/inspections of soil, concrete, masonry, and/or asphalt materials is preferred
• Successfully passing the F.E. exam is required
• Strong communication skills
• Position entails approximately 80% fieldwork and 20% office with occasional travel.
• Valid driver's license with the ability to pass a background check and MVR report
