What are the responsibilities and job description for the Lead Painter/Foreman position at Nova Painting?
We are a growing painting company seeking an experienced Foreman to join our team and oversee a crew of 4-6 painters, which you would be responsible for working with and coaching. As a Foreman, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful production of our paint projects for our clients. This includes both the quality of the work we perform and meeting the key metrics necessary for the company’s profitability.
Overview of the Role:
The Foreman will be responsible for managing and supervising all aspects of the production process, from planning to quality control and safety. The ideal candidate will have excellent leadership skills, a strong background in project management, and a deep understanding of the painting industry from both the craftsman perspective and a numbers perspective.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the project, quality control, and financial analysis of projects.
- Work closely with the crew to ensure that all work is performed safely, efficiently, and to our high standards.
- Continuously improve our production processes, tools, and techniques to increase
- Efficiency and reduce waste.
- Develop and maintain relationships with clients and vendors to ensure a positive customer experience.
- Train and mentor new team members as needed.
- Make on-site preparations such as building scaffolding, covering fixtures etc.
- Prepare walls and other surfaces for painting by scraping, using sandpaper, removing old paint etc.
- Fill cracks and holes with appropriate material (e.g. plaster)
- Mix paint and other materials to prepare the right color or texture
- Paint surfaces according to instructions with various tools
- Apply varnish and other finishes
- Take and adhere to all health and safety precautions
Qualifications:
- At least 2 years of experience in a leadership role in the painting or construction
- Industry and a minimum of 10 years as a painter.
- Excellent project management skills, with a proven track record of successfully
- managing complex projects
- Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
- Strong computer skills

Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $28.00 - $32.00 per hour
Expected hours: 35 – 45 per week
Schedule:
- 8 hour shift
- Monday to Friday
- Weekends as needed
