The Director, PSS Launch & Lifecycle Analytics will use data and analytics expertise and skills to directly support new program launches for PSS disease area teams and their corresponding Integrated Product Strategy Teams (IPSTs). Because this role supports new launches, they will need to rely more heavily on ad hoc skills and new data sources, and less on established analyses or datasets. This highly specialized role will help raise the bar for innovative and novel programs, preparing the PSS organization for unfamiliar territory.
This individual will work closely with our PSS leaders and will be responsible for early-stage and ad hoc analytics. To do this successfully, this individual will develop analytics competencies, methods, tools and cross-functional teams to provide early insights for new program launches. This individual will partner closely with various cross-functional teams including Patient Support Center, Product, Innovation, Launch Excellence, finance, and market access.

Major Accountabilities
- Accountable for supporting early-stage or pre-launch product planning with hands-on, ad hoc data, insights and analytics
- Develop a network of resources across Novartis to support, as needed, non-standard and exploratory analytics and data skills needed to generate novel business insights
- Partner with the PSS Portfolio Strategy team and disease-area teams to support their data and analytics needs for products not managed within the standardized Analytics and Effectiveness portfolio
- Advise PSS teams on data analytics and research methods appropriate to address business objectives
- Acquire new data sources and derivations needed to solve novel challenges

Minimum requirements
What will you bring to the role
Bachelor of Science degree required but an advanced degree (MS or MBA) preferred
10 years of progressive analytics or data software development experience with demonstrated ability in leading and building cross-functional data-driven teams
Strong technical skills in data analytics such as R, Python, SQL and noSQL, machine learning and common analytics and data visualization tools.
Experience with data visualization and data cleaning
Patient access and reimbursement analytics experience a plus
Demonstrated ability to champion the use of innovative data science solutions to drive change in operations
Experience analyzing complex situations, integrating & synthesizing data from various sources, establishing a complete cohesive picture and delivering actionable insights
Strong communication skills and ability to translate technical information into simple insights for leaders
Experience in driving results in a matrix organization
Proven self-starter and ability to deliver strongly in a “hands-on” role
