What are the responsibilities and job description for the Director, New Products and Lifecycle (IHD) position at Novartis?

In this role, you will be:
– This position will be located at the East Hanover, NJ site and will not have the ability to be located remotely.
– This position will require 20% travel as defined by the business (domestic and/ or international).

In this role, you will be:
- Flexing nimbly to bring the voice of our customers and patients as marketers into the work with the US and Global teams. Address and anticipate key questions that may help optimize the commercial prospects of a new medicine. Take the gray and make it clear for the cross functions, by leveraging analogs, secondary and primary research rapidly to reflect the US stakeholders and future environment.
- Partnering and collaborating with a nimble cross functional US and larger global teams to prepare for key decisions, largely for business development deals and phase 2 assets, but early assets and new disease areas are in scope. Scenario plan what the asset could look like in different situations.
- Lead the US commercial strategic perspective and prepare US senior management in advance of key decisions and in collaboration with the US team. Identify and communicate the key drivers for success and the assessment.
- For the lead assets, plan out the lifecycle plans and how to activate these plans partnering with the cross functional teams.
- Be ever curious and lead the organization to pursue new areas of opportunity ranging from new disease areas, delivery systems to new digital solutions with colleagues. Create a shared vision of what a new frontier could look like.
- Be comfortable in reaching out and networking with other colleagues across the therapeutic areas to optimize the asset’s development as needed

- Education: Bachelor's Degree required in relevant area, MBA preferred
- 10 years of pharmaceutical, biotech, healthcare or CPG experience and a minimum of 4 years of in-line, early product development, business development, global pharmaceutical marketing, CPG or related functions/fields
- Familiarity with spreadsheets and revenue builds a plus
- Strong understanding of how a broad range of functions comes together to effectively develop early launch strategies and strong launch planning and readiness
- Demonstrated ability to distill different approaches and drivers to the most relevant and replicable strategies
- Proven lateral thinking and ability to 'connect the dots' between disparate areas to identify key drivers of value and to communicate same
- Ability to identify and articulate key value drivers and capable of gaining alignment to create a written product profile as a roadmap
- Strong influencing and partnering skills; ability to work in a matrix organization
