Summary of the Position:
The Manager, SEC Reporting and Technical Accounting will assist with SEC reporting and technical accounting matters. This position will be located in Gaithersburg, MD and reports to the Senior Director of SEC Reporting, Accounting Policy and SOX Compliance.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
SEC Reporting
- Responsible for the initial preparation and subsequent review of the quarterly (10-Q) and annual (10-K) filings with the SEC, as well as other required filings.
- Own the completion of specified footnote disclosures, certain management's discussion and analysis items and XBRL. Implement and maintain procedures to ensure the timely receipt and review of information necessary for financial reporting functions and consolidation of international entities.
- Research and interpret new U.S. GAAP pronouncements and SEC reporting requirements and assess and document their impact on the Company's financial statements, disclosures and reporting processes.
- Assist with the review of financial information in press releases and investor relations' materials.
Technical Accounting
- Responsible for technical support for specified business areas to ensure proper accounting treatment and assist with establishing global financial policies, practices, and procedures.
- Assist in the technical accounting for a range of activities including stock-based compensation, leases, embedded derivatives, software as a service agreements, revenue recognition and global consolidation of legal entities.
- Assist with the design and operation of SEC reporting and technical accounting related internal controls and SOX 404 compliance activities.
- Support Finance department initiatives and month end close.
Minimum Requirements:
- BA or BS degree in Finance or Accounting, Master’s degree and CPA required.
- 6 years finance experience including 3 years with a Big 4 Audit Firm.
- Demonstrated ability to perform technical accounting research, write effective position papers, and communicate appropriate accounting treatment.
- Extensive knowledge and application of US GAAP and SEC reporting requirements for U.S publicly traded companies. IFRS knowledge a plus.
- In-depth knowledge and experience in drafting financial statements and related disclosures. Working knowledge of Workiva.

- Financial system experience and passionate about business excellence and continuous improvement.
- Experience working in global high growth companies as plus.
