Process Engineer

Position Overview

Determination and elimination of the causes of quality defects, effective resolution of customer complaints (often involving provision of technical assistance and advice to the customer) and the facilitation and completion of product and process developments and improvement projects through the cooperation of other employees with whom the incumbent has no direct control.

There is considerable freedom to act within the area of assigned responsibility.  A high level of initiative is expected, along with the capability of handling technical assignments in areas other than the one in which the incumbent functions.

Responsibilities & Qualifications

Provide day-to-day support necessary to the manufacturing unit to obtain departmental objectives for safety, quality, cost, and recovery. 

Establish and maintain operating practices, control plans, and quality standards.

Provide input on business decisions to ensure production, sales and marketing decisions are taken with full knowledge of their technological implications.

Develop new processes and modify the existing ones to improve product quality and meet customer specifications at a minimum cost.

Contribute to customer satisfaction by prompt and accurate investigation and resolution of complaints.

Contribute to the resolution of in-plant product and process problems to meet the Manufacturing Unit's cost and production effectiveness objectives.

Promote EHS policy, implement the EHS management system and ensure continual improvement of EHS performance in day to day operations.

Maintain good housekeeping and safe working conditions at all times. 

Location Profile

Opened in 1985 the Uhrichsville facility produces flat rolled aluminum sheet. The rolling mill cold rolls aluminum sheet to a desired gauge anneals to temper levels and slits the rolled sheet to size.
