The Linux Administrator utilizes industry or domain experience to deliver technical analysis and support, troubleshooting, and enhancement recommendations. The Linux Administrator will integrate and maintain day-to-day operations of the ServiceNow-focused on-premises Linux servers. This role is responsible for performing maintenance on both hardware and software; evaluating, testing, and integrating upgrades; scanning, patching, remediating and documenting security vulnerabilities for the Operating System; and troubleshooting system and user problems. This role will also be responsible for maintaining security compliance via security protocol documentation, security patches, backups and data retention as stipulated by customer policies.
Additional duties may also include:
- Collaborate with ServiceNow developers and management to select appropriate design solutions and /or ensure compatibility of system components in accordance with best practices and documentation
- Install, upgrade, and maintain the ServiceNow Linux operating system according to supplied documentation
- Ensure ServiceNow daily operational status
- Provide ad hoc reports that analyze performance issues and provide advice to address application high availability issues and requirements
- Perform maintenance on software, evaluate, test and integrate upgrades
- Scan, patch, remediate and document security vulnerabilities for the OS as well as prepare all documentation for org-wide Certification and Accreditation requirements
- Troubleshooting system and user problems.
- Implement and document processes and procedures (comprehensive SOPs) to ensure compliance with standard best practices
- Evaluate current and emerging technologies to consider factors such as cost, portability, compatibility and usability
- Implement and manage the transfer of newly identified / developed technologies into existing environment
- Examine architecture and interoperable issues and identify and resolve service constraints
Here's what you need:
- 8 years of experience with Unix or Linux operating systems
Bonus Point if you have:
- Bachelor's or higher
- Security certification or other level two DOD 8140 compliant cert
- Linux operating system experience, including: system internals file system structures, design and performance tuning at an enterprise level back up recovery testing methodologies storage data replication DISA system hardening guidelines
Security Clearance:
- An active TS/SCI clearance is required to start
Compensation for roles at Accenture Federal Services varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set and level of experience.As required by local law, Accenture Federal Services provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in California, Colorado, New York City or Washington as set forth below and
Role Location: Range of Starting Pay for role
California: $105,200 - $168,400
Colorado: $105,200 - $145,500
New York City: $121,700 - $168,400
Washington: $112,100 - $154,900
