How You'll Perform the Role
The Quality/SQF Coordinator assists the / Compliance Manager in implementing and managing the Safety and Quality Programs. This individual will partner with all members in the workforce to write, validate, and ensure that the Programs are maintained and followed as well as provide optimum service and quality for all products.
Essential Functions & Key Responsibilities:
- Assist with evaluating activities related to the Safe / Quality Program.
- Stimulate and cultivate "a zero-safety incident mentality" throughout the facility.
- Provide assistance to ensure Quality System programs, processes and procedures are implemented successfully and function as designed throughout the operation in order to ensure the quality and integrity of manufactured products and services.
- Conduct Slip Sheet and Waste Buggy Audits and track non-conformances to conformance.
- Complete Quality Coordinator Checklist and communicate non-conformance to appropriate management personnel.
- Assess and evaluate facility personnel and make recommendations to the Compliance Manager to improve training, skills, and performance deficiencies.
- Conduct root cause analysis on defective materials.
- Ensure consistent and thorough follow-up on non-conformance to customer quality expectations.
- Help maintain a root cause database and provide feedback to customers when required.
- Assess and suggest modifications to improve the efficiency of the Safety and Quality Programs.
- Other duties and tasks as assigned.
What We Need From You
- High school diploma or equivalent required, Associates Degree preferred.
- Preferred 2-4 years combined of technical, manufacturing, and/or quality management experience preferably in a printing, converting, or other flexible packaging operation or a combination of education and experience preferred.
- Exposure in a manufacturing environment utilizing TQM, ISO, Lean Manufacturing and/or Six Sigma is preferred.
- Quality Assurance experience preferably in a paper-converting environment is preferred.
- Working knowledge of Practice compliance is preferred.
- The ability to utilize structured problem-solving methods to deliver results.
- Demonstrated competence to work and communicate effectively with all levels in the organization.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office, with willingness and ability to learn new systems.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills required.
- Bilingual, English/Spanish preferred.
