These products deliver new, innovative solutions to old problems, using biotechnology to help with fundamental/ urgent issues that impact now and the future.
Welcome to Microbial Formulation Development
You’ll be part of a dynamic team of scientists and research associates located in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. You’ll work within the internal formulation development team, collaborating with groups across our R&D and production organizations, to develop advanced, scalable formulations and formulation processes for both existing and novel microbe-based products (i.e. bacteria, fungi and yeast).

You’ll be part of a dynamic team of scientists and research associates located in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina. You’ll work within the internal formulation development team, collaborating with groups across our R&D and production organizations, to develop advanced, scalable formulations and formulation processes for both existing and novel microbe-based products (i.e. bacteria, fungi and yeast).
In This Role You’ll Make An Impact By
- Bringing your passion and excitement for downstream processing and formulation, with a desire to drive change and bring people together
- Leading projects through the development phase as part of a cross-functional team
- Working within an agile team of research assistants/associates and scientists to optimize and develop scalable formulation processes for microbe-based products
- Supporting tech transfer, scale-up and process implementation and optimization at industrial scale
- Seeing challenges as opportunities and being proactive and ready to take responsibility
- Ph.D degree (or Master’s with 5 years of relevant experience) in related field, e.g. chemical or bioprocess engineering, food science, microbiology, chemistry
- Good understanding of process engineering, specifically related to industrial drying technologies, liquid and dry blending, and how it relates to end-to-end product development
- Expertise in high thruput formulation development with strong engineering mindset related to downstream processes
- Be able to work independently, but also be a team player motivated by common goals and collaboration
- Enjoy communicating with different stakeholders – both internally in the team and externally to customers
