What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bond/DPA Specialist position at Novus?
Summary:
The Bond/DPA Specialist will serve as a valuable and knowledgeable resource for our Loan Officers, Branch Managers, and Operations Staff. The individual will provide expertise and guidance on state and national bond program guidelines and overlays, individual Downpayment Assistance (DPA) offerings offered by Novus Home Mortgage, and assist with new bond/DPA rollouts.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Function as a resource for Bond/DPA program scenarios.
- Assist with Bond/DPA questions throughout the loan process.
- Assist with rolling out new Bond/DPA offerings.
- Assist and provide the branches and operations staff with all required training.
- Provide details such as agency links and website information as a training tool for employees.
- Provide education on where to find information on overlays and guidelines.
- Assist Underwriters and Branch Managers by researching and answering general Loan Officer (staff) questions.
- Moderate and answer posted questions to the DPA Desk e-mail group.
- Identify and post frequently asked questions and/or important guidelines or changes to the HUB (our internal communication system).
- Assist with maintaining and updating assigned HUB pages regularly.
- Review investor bulletins and watch for guideline changes.
- Forward information to the field when requested and when important guidelines or changes impact the sales teams.
- Forward the information to individual operations departments when they are impacted
- Maintain and assist with updating internal bond/DPA product matrices.
- Assist with loan file setup in LOS (Encompass).
- Maintain user setups for branch and corporate users within the individual agency web portals.
- Represent Novus Home Mortgage at industry-related functions.
- Serve as an intermediary between the sales team and investors affiliated with Novus Home Mortgage, facilitating controlled communication.
- Maintains a focus on enhancing customer service skills and knowledge.
Required Education and Experience:
- A high school diploma or general education degree- required
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field- preferred
- Mortgage industry experience- required
