ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

 

  • Helps set goals and objectives and oversee day-to-day activities and supervision of the production planning Team.
  • Oversees all projects assigned to the production planning team.
  • Monitors and maintains accurate planning master data, BOMs Routings, and Recipes.
  • Identifies and implements process and system improvements.
  • Works with Manufacturing, Scheduling, Purchasing, Quality, and Sales to ensure timely production of finished goods to meet customer demands.
  • Oversees production plan to maximize production efficiencies to meet customer expectations.
  • Provides resolution to capacity constraints.
  • Monitors Aged Inventory Levels goals.
  • Review excess and short shelf-life ingredients to plan ways to avoid write-offs.
  • Achieves assigned goal for Overdue Sales Orders/Prod Orders
  • Provides a backup for the planners.
  • Drives optimum planning strategy by driving plan compliance and ensuring optimum work orders.
  • Monitors Oracle's Supply Chain Management eBusiness Suite and Supply Planning module signals to establish proper replenishment and stocking quantities.
  • Facilitates joint discussions between the planners and scheduling team to develop the optimum run strategy.
  • Works with the scheduling teams to address short-term production exception needs.
  • Expedites work orders when necessary to meet customer delivery dates.
  • Follow-up on material availability and expediting of late deliveries.
  • Works with the scheduling team to generate the locked schedule to meet customer needs.
  • Analyzes assigned resources and makes recommendations when running low capacity. 
  • Complies with safety and GMP requirements.

Reports ALL workplace incidents to supervisor immediately. Communicates concerns to supervisor, reports hazards, and provides input on prevention. Properly uses, wears, and stores Personal Protective Equipment when required.    Participates on safety teams and/or completes safety-related activities as part of regular job responsibilities. Ensures implementation and enforcement of workplace health and safety requirements. Ensures activities are completed to communicate, promote, and enforce safe work practices by supervisors and employees to ensure injury prevention efforts are effectively implemented. Ensure safe production methods are considered in the procurement of materials and equipment.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

Supervises Production Planners. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

 

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE

  • Prior supervisory experience is a must. 
  • Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, business or closely allied field required.
  • Minimum three years of experience in supply planning management.
  • Broad and deep knowledge of supply chain and production processes required.
  • Master Scheduler (Operational planning/scheduling and inventory management – MRP) skills preferred.

 

LANGUAGE SKILLS

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers and coworkers.

 

MATHEMATICAL SKILLS

Ability to work with mathematical concepts. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.

 

REASONING ABILITY

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several variables.  Strong analytical and problem-solving ability required.

 

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  • Strong organizational, detail oriented, data driven and attention to detail skills required. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Excellent teamwork skills and ability to work in a fast paced environment and to change priorities based on business need.
  • Advanced skills in MS office suite, including advanced skills in Excel.   Access experience is strongly preferred.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee works near moving mechanical parts when working on the Production floor. The employee is exposed to herbal aromas, dust, and/or airborne particles, some classified as allergens or irritants.

 

This position works in all areas of NOW’s manufacturing facilities with direct exposure to ingredients (powders and liquids), mixes (powders and liquids), equipment, and packaging.

 

Employee will be required to travel to other facilities, based on business needs.
